The lodge all the way at the top of the Killington Access Rd. Most people (except those with leasons or those with younger kids) will start their day here, which can make it very busy and hard to park. If a late night or large group in tow, prevents you from getting to the lifts early, here is a parking tip: while driving up the access Rd, make a right immediately after the Snowshed parking lot and head straight up, this is the back way into the K-1 parking lot, and gives quicker entry.
The K-1 Base Lodge Area hosts two main lifts: K-1 express gondola and the Superstar lift. The gondola holds eight people at a time and can eat up a line of waiting skiers very quickly. There is also an outdoor Waffle Haus, for quick eats, a Demo Center Tent, where you can try out new gear, and the actual Lodge building.
The Lodge is best place to be for apres-ski on the mountain. Besides the large cafeteria and eating area (including an upstairs floor which is usualy less crowded, and offers hooks for gear bags), there are three main bar areas. The outside deck has been enlarged and holds a few picnic tables. If it is cold outside, the "Mahogany Ridge" bar offers live music, a large bar, and pub fare. If the Mahogany Ridge fills up, walk a little farther to the "Superstar Bar" (a seperate and huge room adjacent to the first). The Superstar Bar also has a huge bar and offers live music. This is where the party gets going.
