Very comfortable way to travel. You can bring your laptop and do some work, enjoy a book, take a nap, have a drink at the Bar Car or do all of the above. The trip from Penn Station to Rutland takes about 5 hours. It is a good way to go if you are traveling alone. The scenery along the Hudson going out of and into NYC (for about 1 1/2 hrs) are beautiful. Check amtrak.com for itinerary and occasional discounts. Remember to bring a picture ID, the conductor will ask you for it. Once at the Rutland Station you can take one of the Taxis listed to Killington (about a 14 mile trip).
